Darrell is best known for playing his entire 20-year career as the cornerback for the Washington Redskins, and is considered to be one of the greatest cornerbacks ever. He also won numerous awards, including the 1996 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for his charity work as well as excellence on the field and the 1997 Bart Starr Award for outstanding leadership and character on and off the field. Darrell is a member of both the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team and one of the 70 Greatest Redskins. In 2008, Darrell received the crowning achievement of his playing career when he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In addition to his remarkable career, Darrell is well-known for his charity work, having started the Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation in 1988 to help children develop into leaders who positively influence their families and communities.
